The review recommendations are directed primarily to NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates; but, through the participation of colleagues from NHS England, it was hoped that they can also be taken into account in the next revision of NHS England commissioning policy.
In May 2015 the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorate (SGHSCD) Diagnostic Steering Group (DG) approved the establishment of a SCIN PET-CT Review of Indications Short Life Working Group with a remit “to develop consistent, evidence based PET/CT guidelines which would promote equity for patients”.
